Patent Granted - Official Notice
It is official, Advanced Composite Structures Inc. was granted United States Patent No. 7,237,751 on March 29, 2007. This Patent covers the application of polyurethane leading edge protection on helicopter rotor blades. This process provides better erosion protection of the rotor blades, especially when flying in aggressive environments such as the desert, thus prolonging the life of rotor blades. As well, this process eliminates the time-consuming task of continually removing and replacing the clear tape on the leading edge.
