Building the Brisbane team!
As the ACS group continues transforming our Brisbane location into a state-of-the-art Rotor Blade repair facility, we have started building our team of key players that will help run it. ACS is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Smith as VP Sales & Business Development and Michael Williamson as General Manager of our new Brisbane facility, Rotor-Tech International!
Kevin is an Aviation Sales Professional specializing in the Aircraft and Helicopter Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul sector. Kevin has been in the Aviation industry since 1975 with a career spanning over 46 years. Starting as an aircraft maintenance engineer with Qantas Airways, he realized that his ambitious nature would lead to bigger and better things.
Over those 46 years Kevin has worked in various positions within the Aviation Industry resulting in ever increasing rolls and responsibilities. From working and living in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines, to running and setting up his own MRO Corporate Jet maintenance facility, Kevin has always found challenges and conquered them.
Kevin has worked for premier aviation companies such as Hawker Pacific (17 years), Pratt and Whitney Canada (10 years), Pacific Jet Philippines (4 years), Qantas Airways (5 years), Advance Airlines (2 years), Heli-One (6 years) and now with Advanced Composite Structures (ACS).
What brings Kevin to ACS is his passion for the aviation industry, his ability to engage customers and colleagues alike and the exciting times ahead in supporting one of the niche products in Helicopter operations – Rotor Blades!
Michael is an Aviation Maintenance Professional with 19 years’ experience in the Aviation Industry. He began his maintenance career for Boeing Australia working on both the F-111 and 737-AWEC Wedgetail projects, supporting the Australian Defense Force. Michael worked for Sikorsky Australia for 12 years where he developed a passion and a strong knowledge of the global Helicopter industry.
Michael has travelled the world supporting helicopter operators with complex modifications and repairs on various rotary wing aircraft and knows the importance of maintaining a high-quality standard while keeping to tight timeframes.
Having worked as the Team Leader for Sikorsky Australia’s Rotary Blade Repair shop, Michael is acutely aware of the challenges faced by Helicopter operators around the world, and he is very proud to now team with ACS, a world leader in Rotor Blade repair.
Michael is excited to bring ACS’s world class capabilities to the Australian and South East Asian helicopter market, giving operators in the region the support they have been needing.
